Our Principals

P. Michael Bizanovich, President

With a background in electronics and a fascination for technology, and in the early 1980’s during the infancy of personal-computing, TSG’s founder, Mike Bizanovich, began developing sophisticated, financial models for real estate and equipment leasing investments. In 1984, Mike was hired part-time by an investment banking firm to develop financial models and computerize the office. At the same time he began laying the groundwork for a PC sales and consulting business. In 1985, BIZ Consulting opened for business.

With a focus on “Service First” and a consultative approach to sales, BIZ Consulting grew to the point that in 1991, ComputerLand Corporation approached Mike about the possibility of BIZ becoming a franchisee of the world’s then largest computer systems and peripherals aggregator. This relationship was a “fit” and for the next ten years ComputerLand Wheeling continued to grow, following a service-central business model. During this period, Mike fortified his workforce with talented employees with the same heart and mind set for attentive customer service.

Mike strongly believes that employee compensation and financial reward be tied to productivity and customer service, and instills in his employees that “what is good for the company is good for the employee, and vice-versa”.

In 2000, with the ComputerLand commitment coming at the end, the business name Technology Services Group, Inc. was adopted, to help demonstrate that what began as a PC sales and services company, had evolved into a much broader based technology company. Through the years, Mike has closely monitored technology innovations and advancements and has taken a conservative approach to introducing unproven “advances” to customers. He believes that this approach is crucial to providing TSG’s customer’s a maximum return on investment for their equipment and services spending.

With a commitment to TSG’s continued steady growth and expansion in the coming years, he is focused on staying current with advancements in technology and finding future employees with the right attitude and aptitude for the customer.

Technology, electronics, and music are passions for Mike. As a musician, (he plays guitar, banjo and some keyboards), he has a recording studio in his home where he enjoys many creative hours. Other pastimes and hobbies include watching youth soccer, photography, videography and spending time with his family. He volunteers for youth soccer and has a background in youth ministry and volunteers time to Young Life, a Christian outreach to high school students. Mike is married and has two teenage daughters.

Rob Materkoski, Vice-President/Senior Analyst

In mid-1993, Rob Materkoski joined the ComputerLand Wheeling team, bringing with him a solid history in sales and management coupled with a recent degree in information technology. While pursuing his degree, Rob worked full time as a retail sales manager, and at the same time he and his wife began raising a young family. To call Rob “driven” is an understatement. At ComputerLand, he hit the ground running and with a deep conviction for customer service and an eye for continued growth, Rob forged a bond with owner, Mike Bizanovich that continues to this day. Bizanovich states: “Rob came to us at a crucial time in our history. IT products were becoming commodities and we needed our staff to understand the need for growing our services business, and have an unflagging commitment to customer satisfaction. Rob’s background was steeped in this tradition of excellence and we were and are fortunate that he is part of our team.”

During the latter half of the 1990’s, Rob was responsible for continuous year-on-year sales growth for the company and took a leadership role with new hires. Not just a “sales-guy”, but a gifted IT consultant, technician and analyst, Rob was quickly named Sales Manager/Senior Analyst. With a “lead-by-example” management style, Rob has trained and nurtured a growing staff of technicians and engineers who are among the top in the industry.

In 2000, ComputerLand Wheeling became Technology Services Group, Inc. (TSG). With the new company structure, Rob took on the roles of vice president and secretary of the corporation. Additionally, during this decade, Rob has earned and taken on more responsibilities in his managerial roles. Based on his dedicated commitment to TSG, and his focus on the continued growth and success of the company, Rob became an equity shareholder of the corporation. As an owner, Rob continues in his management roles, and by example, leads a growing staff of techs, engineers, and sales staff in providing state-of-the art sales and service with a steadfast objective for excellence in customer service.

Rob believes that close customer relationships, honesty and listening to client needs is what sets TSG apart from other IT companies. “We are not in it for the quick sale. We want to partner with our clients to be their total solution provider and trusted long-term business partner ”.

Rob enjoys golf, cooking, running and fishing and science fiction. He is married and has two daughters.

Our History and Our Growth

Technology Services Group’s history began in 1985 as the privately owned computer sales and services company BIZ Consulting. Our original focus was to provide computer hardware, software and services to business customers.

All About Us

In 1991, our strategy was enhanced by our affiliation as a franchisee to ComputerLand Corporation, who at the time was the world’s largest PC and peripherals aggregator. In addition to ComputerLand’s ability to bring us the industry standard manufacturer partners, that relationship helped us to improve ourselves as a service centered technology integrator, implement an outbound sales initiative focused on developing long term business relationships, all the while maintaining customer service and satisfaction as the foundation. In 2001 ComputerLand Wheeling became Technology Services Group, Inc. (TSG), and has successfully grown to become one of the largest privately owned network and services integration companies in West Virginia.

TSG offers a variety of technology solutions customized to meet the needs of its clientele. We have been providing IT solutions in West Virginia, Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio for over 20 years. TSG offers products, services and support to a variety of clients ranging from large corporations, Federal, State & Local Government, Education & Institutions and small/medium businesses, just to name a few.

Our Methodology

TSG has long been committed to providing the highest level of products and services to its customers and clients. Long-term business relationships are the foundation that we build upon. The entire TSG staff is dedicated to that premise. It is our steadfast mission to continue to grow TSG while maintaining our focus on customer service and satisfaction.

We approach each technology project with a well defined methodology: diagnosis, plan, implementation and follow-up. Read more about each process below.

Research & Diagnosis

We begin the process by asking a lot of questions - about your operations and how technology fits into your business. We find out what your technology "sore points" are, and we look for areas where your computer systems are vulnerable to hardware or software failure, or to viruses, hackers or unauthorized intrusion.

An Individualized Plan

Then we present you with a plan where we describe in detail the work we recommend. We typically present several options in terms of cost and functionality, giving you a clear understanding of the tradeoffs and choices available.

Putting it Into Practice

We then implement whatever your business needs from setting up the servers, storage and backup systems to workstations. And, we get everything ready prior to the actual on-site install. We do all the software and security updates and patches, and then provide a secure VPN for your software vendor(s) to “tunnel in” and install and test their software.

The Follow-Up

Most importantly, we are the only technology solutions company you need to turn to in the future, with questions, when things don't work the way you expect or when you business needs change and grow.

And Finally…

With Technology Services Group, Inc. as a partner in your business, you won't ever have to turn anywhere else.*

*And we are really nice to work with too!
